Wind River officially sponsors Team Phoenicia

Wind River becomes Team Phoenicia's first official backer in the Google Lunar X Prize. Wind River, the
global leader in device software optimization (DSO), has provided access and support for Team Phoenicia
for its vxWorks software. The total pledged package has a worth greater than $460,000.
The Wind River VxWorks is complete, flexible, optimized COTS
development and run-time platform that works out of the box and across
the enterprise. The platform provides a powerful, scalable development
and on-chip debugging environment built on open standards and
industry-leading tools; the industry¹s most trusted commercial grade
real-time operating system (RTOS); and tightly integrated run-time
technologies. This proven technology package is backed by a 25-year
track record, an exceptional ecosystem of hardware and software
partners, and the industry¹s most comprehensive support organization.
vxWorks has been used extensively and very successfully in numerous aerospace and defense projects.
Notably and most relevently, vxWorks was the same real-time operating system that has been successfully
used in NASA's Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity.

Team Phoenicia is a soon-to-be entrant team into the Google Lunar X Prize. Founded in December, 2007, it is
